Professional Tool Length Setter device for measuring the height of the tool in CNC machines and working centers.
It is compatible with any control with an NC input (Normally Closed).
This probe has 2 contacts, each of them has 2 wires that create a simple electrical contact. These electrical contacts are NC (Normally Closed) that becomes OPEN when the tool setter is touched. The first contact is the measure contact and the second contact is the security contact. One wire has to be connected to your CN input and the other wire has to be connected to a power supply with a voltage that your CN input can manage. So this is the reason why this tool setter is compatible with any kind of CN board as Heidenhain, Fanuc, OSAI, Siemens, Mach3, Twintec Colibrì, QEM Rosetta…
This tool setter has a contact surface of 30mm, but you can also measure tools with a larger diameter.
It is made in stainless steel and protected from water with an IP68 degree of protection.
Repeatability is of 2 microns with a probing speed of 50mm/min.
Without a tool setter, the worker has to measure manually the length of the tool and save it. This for every tool used.
With the tool setter, this activity is faster and more precise because made automatically.
In addition when you use tools that have a fast wear the length could change from one work to another. Sometimes this wear is negligible but in other cases could compromise the final result. So the tool length setter could be used to “requalifying” the tool length in order to compensate for the difference.
